Two legendary SUVs, each with long histories, but only one can emerge victorious. So will it be the 2020 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited at Scheidemantle Motors , or the Toyota Land Cruiser? Let's check out the stats of each.

Performance

There's only one engine in the Toyota Land Cruiser. A 5.7-liter V8 engine and its powerful (381 horsepower!) but it's a thirsty beast. It's not helped at all by the bulk and weight of a three-row SUV. Each of the three engine choices in the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, which range from 260 to 285 horses, are certainly less powerful. However thanks to their smaller-displacement of power this SUV is more agile and allows for a more tactile driving experience. They also have much better fuel economy figures to match, with the Sahara trim even offering a torque and efficiency-boosting mild hybrid system you won't find in the Toyota model.

Capability

Since you're probably comparing these SUVs for their off-road capabilities, let's look at a few aces this Jeep Wrangler for sale has up its sleeve. To start with, its 118-inch wheelbase is longer than the 112-inch wheelbase on the Toyota Land Cruiser, making it safer on steep grades. It also offers multiple four-wheel drive configurations (like the impressive Rock-Trac 4.0:1 gear ratio and locking differentials in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon), versus one for the Toyota SUV. And nothing quite compares to a Trail Rated™ Jeep Wrangler, with features and options like skid plates, rock rails, winches, and a whole lot more that add to your fun while you're out and about.

Tech and Comfort

The Toyota Land Cruiser may offer decent off-road capability, but it falls short on the tech front. Its most advanced infotainment feature is Siri Eyes Free. In the Jeep Wrangler you'll have access to Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, both of which feature in the more advanced UConnect infotainment system. And nobody in their right mind would suggest removing the doors and windows on a Toyota Land Cruiser, while the new Jeep SUV practically begs for it.

At first glance, this may seem an odd matchup, but the Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the few SUVs not belonging to the Jeep brand that makes a credible case for off-roading. However, the Jeep Wrangler simply outshines and outperforms, making it worth the trip to our Hermitage PA Jeep dealership for a test drive, Jeep parts and accessories , and more.
